Yes. Messages can only be manually deleted.

PingMe currently supports photos and location and will introduce video and voice message in an update coming soon.

There is no limit to the number of friends you can have in a group chat.
Do I incur a texting charge for receiving the verification?
No. The PingMe application is completely free. It’s even free for International usage.
How can I change my notification sound?
In the current version, we do not have custom sounds for the notification. In later releases, we will introduce new sounds that you can customize. For the time being, please adjust your phone’s sound settings to manage the volume.
I never got a text message with my verification code. What do I do?

I changed my phone number. How can I update PingMe?
- First, update your PingMe status to notify all of your friends that you have a new phone number.
- Second, delete PingMe, re-install the app and register with your new phone number.
Why use the status functionality of PingMe?

You can use the Status functionality of PingMe to inform your friends about your availability or anything else that’s on your mind. For instance:
- You’re getting on a plane and cannot be reached for a few hours
- You’re at a movie and will not respond for a few hours
- You’re in a meeting and can only respond via email or PingMe
- Your phone is dying and can only be reached via email/direct phone
How do I sign out of PingMe?
You do not need to sign in and out of PingMe. In order to receive and be notified of new messages from your friends, you need to be signed in at all times.
Does PingMe kill or drain my battery?
Not at all. PingMe leverages push notifications to let you know when friends have sent you a message. When the application is closed, it does not use any battery.
What does the S, D and R mean next to my message?
S – Your message has successfully sent
D – Your message was delivered to the recipient’s device
R – Your message was read by the recipient

Your device is not properly activated with Apple and therefore cannot receive push notifications. To resolve this issue, visit http://www.pushfix.info. After you apply the fix, please delete and reinstall the app.

Go to conversations > + (button on the top right) > type in new friends to join the group conversation
What Apple devices do you support?
We support all iDevices as long as they are running OS 3.1 and up. PingMe works on iPad in 2x mode.
In order to activate PingMe on devices that do not support SMS, you must enter a phone number that is capable of receiving a text message with your unique verification code. Once you receive this verification code, you must enter it into the device you’d like to activate.
